Description of Frequency Manager 7.0

Frequency Manager 7.0 for Windows is at the moment the most up-to-date and comprehensive database system for shortwave listeners. In comparison with the version for DOS this version for Windows has bin extended in the part of technical descriptions and the number of databases. You can compare this software to most other databases. You will find nearly every station which is active on shortwave including callsigns for PSK stations. The the build-in CAT software lets you control a receiver directly from the database. The receiver is set to the correct frequency and mode. You can also scan by selceted table or by selected frequencies with setable delay and repeat cycle. The extensive infomation part is a source for nearly all fields of radio monitoring. You need several very good choosen books, to get the same amount of background knowledge. This software is a must for all real shortwave listeners.

Frequency database :

This database is the main table in this database system. It contains more than 20000 up-to-date frequencies with the following parameters:

The main datas are shown in list form. Additional you can display a frequency page to every dataset, which shows all parameters for one frequency in one view For special parameters you can directly jump to other databases by mouse click.. So i.e you can jump to the system database, where the system is described with picturs for spectrum and oscilloscope. Optional you can play back a WAVE file, to listen to the system. By mouse click you can set the frequency and mode of a connected receiver via the serial port.You can also scan selected datasets with a preset delay time and repeat cyclus, to watch these frequencies for a longer period of time. Datasets can be selected in any combination.So you can i.e. select all SITOR stations with the callsign DAN, all FAX stations from Russia or all CROWD 36 stations transmitting after 1500 o'clock. By using a "like"- operator with a star(*) you can select i.e. all MFA's. Additional all databases can be sorted by the most important fields. For finding datasets very fast (in milliseconds) a FAST FIND is integrated, which needs only the frequency. We have added new quick find function for all transmission modes on the shortwave. You can get a list of all frequencies for one system by a simple mouse click.

All important parameters are than displayed on your monitor.

You can add, delete or update all datasets of the frequency tables. So the database is also working as your logbook.

At the moment the following receivers can be controlled by the databases in the Frequency Manager for Windows : ICOM, YAESU, KENWOOD, EKD 500, NRD 535,NRD 525, AR3000A, AR5000, AR8000, AR8200, PCR 1000, WINRADIO, HF150, RX320, RACAL 6775, HF1000.

Other receivers can be integrated on request.

You can directly jump to the integerated MUF software package whcih will display the propagation conditions to the chosen station. Additionally the locations are displayed on a world map with beam headings and distance.

Frequency Manager also offers the possibility to start additional programs from inside the software. So you have buttons for your favourite external CAT software or decoders like CODE 3 GOLD.

VHF/UHF/Satellite database:

This new database cntains around 12000 frequencies for the VHF/UHF and satellite range. You will find information like user, callsigns, uplink ranges, down link ranges aso. Additonal for some satellites the EIRP and G/T are mentioned. You can directly control your receiver by clicking onto the dataset. All main functions from the utility database are also available.

Broadcast database :

This database contains more than 16000 datasets for broadcast staions including mode, callsign, time (for a special language), language and country. By a doubleclick with your mouse you can set the frequency and mode of a connected receiver via the serial port. You can also scan selected datasets with a preset delay time and repeat cyclus, to watch these frequencies for a longer period of time. Datasets can be selected in any combination i.e. all transmissions from France in English or all transmissions on one frequency from VOA. Additional the database can be sorted by the most important datafields.

Number stations :

This database contains most active number stations, which transmit there agents all over the world important informations. You will find the transmission time (also from stations which transmit on a weekly or monthly basic), days of transmissions, language and the receiver of the information. By a doubleclick with your mouse you can set the frequency and mode of a connected receiver via the serial port. You can also scan selected datasets with a preset delay time and repeat cyclus, to watch these frequencies for a longer period of time. Datasets can be selected in any combination i.e. all transmissions from Russia or all transmissions in CW. Additional the database can be sorted by the most important datafields.

which gives you information i.e. the use of airport or NATO indicators, telegram formats, recognition of PSK aso. You will also find tables with tetetype alphabets, explanation of different data formats, building of selective callsigns and much more. Of course all common RTTY systems are explained and listed with their specific parameters. Tables, sorted by baud rates with their possible users and sorted by system for a quick overview are also included. Newer systems like G-TOR, PACTOR, CLOVER, CROWD36, RS-ARQ and Packet Radio are described . You also will find a description of common navigation systems in the long wave range i.e. DECCA, LORAN a.s.o. For recognition of transmitter in the arabic world we have included two tables for translation of typical arabic expressions used in telegraph communication with ATU-A and arabic teleprinter. This will not help you to translate complete text but you can recognise the user , transmitter and receiver of such messages. This Technical Handbook is always renewed and up-to-date. You will get a new copy with your regular updates. New is a hugh database of more than 12000 ICAO indicators from all military and civil airports of the world.

Updates :

The value of such a database system increases and decreases with the actuality. It makes no sense to buy a database in form of a book or whatever and to find out, that it is old with the day of publishing. We offer you a three month update service for your frequency databases. Our database is changed daily and you will get always the most actual version. This brings you the advantage to be always up to date. For an update it is only necessary to send us the original disk and you get your new database system in two days plus postage.
